Holding On

“Holding On” was Jada Wong’s solo show at Know Future Gallery in 2023. The show was created to be viewed as a deconstructed picture book as the pieces were interspersed with a piece of writing. It was a narrative about experiencing life as it shifts and changes which is scary and unpredictable. This causes us to want to grasp onto the things that are familiar to us. However, we have to learn how to let go and move forward healthily for the sake of our relationships and ourselves.

“Holding On”  By Jada Wong
“I’m scared
time is moving too fast
so I hold on to everything around me
no one will ever take them from me
but they start to consume me
tighter and tighter I hold
until I see their guts spatter everywhere
what have I done?
this is it
there is nothing left
or maybe it is just the end of that experience
now I have space to grow”
